Patton Oswalt is ready to return for a Ratatouille sequel, but only if his one condition for a genuine story is met. And now, with several popular animated movies receiving long-awaited sequels, there have been questions about a sequel to Ratatouille.

Patton Oswalt recently appeared on the Obsessed: The Podcast, where he said he would be interested in reprising his role for a Ratatouille sequel. However, he made it clear that he does not want a random story about Remy being created for the sequel. Instead, he said it should only move forward if director Brad Bird comes up with a genuine idea and a story worth telling.
“I don’t want it to come from us going, ‘All right, let’s get out the legal pads and let’s break down a sequel.’ There are a lot of movies where that’s how they’re done, and it always feels inorganic,” he said.
He further added, “I want the sequel to be not the same type of movie, but that same energy that ‘Terminator 2’ or ‘Aliens’ had, which is, there’s an expansion of the story that we that we actually need to tell… This isn’t just a money grab.”
He further admitted that money is important, and they would like to earn more money if the sequel gets made. However, he stressed that any financial success should come from telling a genuine story they had never thought of before, rather than making a film solely for profit. That approach was seen in the original Ratatouille, which grossed $623.7 million worldwide and became the sixth highest-grossing film of 2007.
With new chatter surrounding a possible sequel, it is only natural that there will be curiosity to revisit the original film and find out where it can be streamed.
