“Very Inspiring” -Ryan Gosling Talks About Joining 'Star Wars' Universe
A devoted fan of the franchise, Ryan Gosling has never hidden his excitement about joining the Star Wars universe. Speaking of his lifelong love for the galaxy at The Mandalorian & Grogu panel during Star Wars Celebration, the actor even shared a nostalgic picture of his Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back bedsheets from childhood. This came after director Shawn Levy announced that he would team up with Gosling for his upcoming adventure Star Wars: Starfighter at an event in Tokyo.
After sharing his love for the films, The Notebook actor has also recently opened up about his experience filming for one of the most iconic franchises.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ryan Gosling was asked about his recent movie, Project Hail Mary, in which he plays an astronaut, as well as his upcoming Star Wars project. In response, the actor shared his excitement about being part of such films and expressed his desire to star in more such projects.
“Am I a space case? Don’t know that I am done with it. I think I would still want to do more. I find it very inspiring,” he said.
While few details are available about Gosling’s upcoming film, Star Wars: Starfighter, director Shawn Levy revealed in an April 2025 event that the story will take place years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Production began in August of last year, and anticipation is higher than ever after Levy shared the first glimpse of the movie, showing Gosling standing on a boat next to co-star Flynn Gray. And while the film is set for release in 2027, the current spotlight has been on Gosling’s Project Hail Mary.
The actor has recently been gaining traction for his sweet gesture at the Paris premiere of the movie.

It is well known that Ryan Gosling, who plays a middle school science teacher in Project Hail Mary, will step into the shoes of an astronaut to save the world. At the Paris premiere of the movie, he playfully switched roles again, but this time to make people laugh. He turned the tables by asking the reporters questions.

During the playful and hilarious conversation, he asked one of the reporters which song they would play for an alien to represent humanity. From David Bowie’s 'Loving the Alien' to A$AP Rocky, Gosling, and the reporters continued their fun exchange until he stepped back into his role. The fun, however, will continue when the movie drops on March 26, 2025.
