Tom Selleck had a candid reflection about Blue Bloods during his appearance on Ted Danson's Where Everybody Knows Your Name SiriusXM podcast. “Blue Bloods was a labor of love. The real truth to that is in the last year, at our last family dinner, everybody wanted to come back. We had already taken a 25 percent cut in salary," he said.

"It was very frustrating because Blue Bloods was, out of the top 100 shows on broadcast television, number six in our fifteenth year,” Selleck added.

The cancellation itself had little to do with collapsing ratings. CBS executives previously explained that the network wanted to refresh its schedule despite the show's remarkably consistent performance.
