Delve into the clandestine realms of celebrity bonds as we unravel the enduring affection between Ryan Reynolds and Joe Alwyn.

Unraveling Ryan Reynolds and Joe Alwyn’s Enduring Affection Pre-Taylor Swift Era

The world is a testament to the musical prowess that is Taylor Swift
[https://www.netflixjunkie.com/tag/taylor-swift/]. The singer’s incredibly
accessible music always has a personal link, given that she frequently writes
about her past relationships. Before her romance with Travis Kelce hit the news
screens, she was in a 6-year relationship with Joe Alwyn, which ended earlier in
2023. After the end of the relationship, all of her celebrity pals sided with
her, including Ryan Reynolds. [https://www.netflixjunkie.com/tag/ryan-reynolds/]
However, a past situation shows Reynolds and the ‘Sweet Nothing’ co-writer in a
different light.

While Ryan Reynolds has his priorities straight now, a previous interview
revealed the Deadpool actor’s affection for Alwyn.

RYAN REYNOLDS HAD A SOFT SPOT FOR JOE ALWYN

Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift’s close friendship started with Reynolds’s wife
Blake Lively [https://www.netflixjunkie.com/tag/blake-lively/] being best pals
with the ‘Reputation’ singer. This connection further came to the forefront as a
support mechanism when Alwyn broke up with Swift. Following this, all of her
prominent pals, including Gigi Hadid and Ryan Reynolds, unfollowed the
32-year-old actor on Instagram. However, in the annual Time 100 issue published
in 2022, Reynolds
[https://time.com/collection/time100-next-2022/6213722/joe-alwyn/] had nothing
but admiration for Alwyn.

Reynolds revealed in the personalized letter that he’s known Alwyn for six
years, and “that’s long enough to see someone’s heart.” Further, after spending
so much time with someone, one can tell if they are made of good material or
not, and “Alwyn is made of good stuff.” The Deadpool actor then talked about the
accomplishments that the 32-year-old actor has had and will have in the next few
years. While the current status of the performers’ friendship is unknown, they
must have had a close relationship in the past.

While the unfollowing event has left the actor in a gloomy situation, the story
was very different when he was dating Taylor Swift.

WAS REYNOLDS CLOSE TO ALWYN, AS THE PUBLIC THOUGHT?

Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn had a private relationship, so it was difficult to
figure out his bond with Reynolds. However, the actors were frequently seen
hanging out and attending common events. This was heightened when Alwyn and
Swift were spotted celebrating New Year’s Eve with Lively and Reynolds in 2019.
Further, they could also be close given he co-wrote the song ‘Betty,’ named
after Reynolds’ daughter, for Swift’s ‘Folklore’ album under the pen name
William Bowery.

Not just ‘Betty’ but the 32-year-old actor has also co-written other songs like
‘Exile’ and ‘Evermore.’ Moving on from this relationship, Taylor Swift is now
blissfully dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce
[https://www.netflixjunkie.com/music-news-taylor-swift-rushes-to-travis-kelce-moments-after-south-american-leg-of-her-eras-tour-concert/]
and on the professional front has completed the final leg of her The Eras tour
in South America.
