The pirates are on board! New Paramount + series, Treasure Island, is sailing onto screens with exciting adventure, spine-chilling scares, suspense, and a mutiny brewing on deck. It is based on the famous novel of the same name by Robert Louis Stevenson, who made pirate lore popular.

While the cast is confirmed, what is the show Treasure Island about?

The series Treasure Island, starring Hayley Atwell is based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s famous 1883 novel of the same name. The story follows young Jim Hawkins and his mother, Bess Hawkins, who come into possession of Captain Flint’s treasure map. This leads the two to set out on a hunt to find the gold buried on a mysterious island. Their journey takes them aboard the Hispaniola, where they cross paths with Long John Silver and a crew of pirates who are after the same treasure.

Now, when can fans can expect the new show?

Treasure Island will be available to watch on MGM+ in the United States from October 11, 2026. The following day, the series will premiere on Paramount+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The rest of the episodes are scheduled for weekly release.

The series was created by Robert Murphy, while Jeremy Lovering, William McGregor, and Paul Walker directed all six episodes. Treasure Island promises an exciting new take on the classic story, and as many might already know, the journey will not be without betrayals and unexpected dangers. Until then, fans can watch classic pirate movies.
