‘Toy Story 5’ Cast and Character Guide: Everyone You Need to Know

Only a few days of wait now, and we will once again be taken to infinity and beyond with Toy Story 5. The beloved franchise is back after almost seven years since we last saw our favorite toys going on their separate journeys. Woody made a tough call to part with his crew and his best friend, Buzz, to be with BO Peep and help other abandoned toys. And now, the gang is set for a reunion in the latest film with some new characters in the mix.

While we wait for Toy Story 5 to release in theaters, let us get to know every cast member joining the new adventure.

Meet the stars of Toy Story 5

Tom Hanks: The legendary actor will voice his iconic character, Sheriff Woody. Tom Hanks has been playing the lovable cowboy for 31 years now and is also known for movies like Forrest Gump, Cast Away, The Green Mile, The Terminal, Saving Private Ryan, and so much more.

Tim Allen: The actor and comedian voices Buzz Lightyear, the loyal deputy to Woody and also his best friend. Tim Allen’s other acting credits include The Santa Clause, The Santa Clause 2, Wild Dogs, Cars, Zoom, etc.

Joan Cusack: The veteran actress voices Jessie, the spirited cowgirl. She is now in charge of running Bonnie’s room as Woody decided to leave with Bo Peep in Toy Story 4. Joan Cusack’s previous ventures include Shameless, School of Rock, Working Girl, Runaway Bride, etc.

Annie Potts: The Golden Globe-nominated actress voices Bo Peep, Woody’s love interest. She went missing after the first movie, only to return in the fourth installment. Annie Potts has been previously seen in Young Sheldon, Pretty in Pink, Corvette Summer, Ghostbusters, and more.

Tony Hale: The actor-comedian voices Forky, an important member of Woody’s crew. Hale has featured in Arrested Development, Veep, Sketch, Woman of the Hour, etc.

Additional cast members include Blake Clarke as Slinky the dog, Wallace Shawn as Rex, the dinosaur, and John Ratzenberger as Hamm the piggy bank. Some fresh new faces have also been added, like Bad Bunny as Pizza with Sunglasses, Greta Lee as Lilypad “Lily,” Alan Cumming as Bullseye, Craig Robinson as Atlas, and Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants.

With a dazzling cast like that, the anticipation for the new story goes through the roof.

What is the plot of Toy Story 5?

The gang fights electronics, their most formidable foe to date, in the upcoming film Toy Story 5. The movie, which is directed by Andrew Stanton, centers on Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie as they come to understand that conventional playtime is in danger when Bonnie develops an obsession with a smart tablet called Lilypad.

Although the gadget allows her to play games and communicate with friends, it also turns out to be an unfriendly presence, slowly persuading Bonnie that she is outgrowing her toys. The toys now have to fight for their existence, or they will be thrown into oblivion. The movie is ready to be released on June 19, 2026.
