Kenneth Lonergan will soon make his much-awaited return to the world of cinema with a new directorial project. The director, writer, and actor is all set to take the helm of the upcoming movie, Tomorrow Is a Drag. This comes after his decade-long hiatus, during which there has been much chatter about the immense potential he is yet to explore.
Now, he is finally set to return, and that will be with a film featuring a stellar cast, including Academy Award–nominated actress Vanessa Kirby.

The Cannes market has brought some of the biggest and most interesting insights, and one of those is Kenneth Lonergan’s comeback with a new film, Tomorrow Is a Drag. This will be his first movie since Manchester by the Sea in 2016. Before that, he brought to life two other acclaimed films, You Can Count on Me and Margaret.
While the plot and further details about Lonergan’s upcoming project have not yet been revealed, several notable names attached to the film are already making headlines. Vanessa Kirby, who received an Academy Award nomination for her performance in Pieces of a Woman, is part of the cast. Aubrey Plaza and Adam Driver have also reportedly joined the film, while Sara Murphy, the producer behind Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, will produce the upcoming project.

Inspector Gadget actor Matthew Broderick, who appeared in Lonergan’s previous three films, will return for the director’s fourth movie. Now, the director's return is highly anticipated not only because of his painfully long hiatus, but also because of how highly his previous films are regarded. His last film, Manchester by the Sea, earned Lonergan the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, while Casey Affleck won Best Actor.
It may have been a decade, but the director's work, Manchester by the Sea, is not forgotten, with many continuing to watch and rewatch the movie.

However, after his brother Joe passes away, Lee unexpectedly becomes the legal guardian of his teenage nephew, Patrick.

As he struggles with his new responsibility, painful memories and unresolved trauma from the past begin to resurface. Lucas Hedges plays Patrick, while Michelle Williams, Kyle Chandler, C. J.
