The actor recently shared that he learned about Robert Downey Jr.'s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe directly from the Oscar winner himself and quickly passed the news along to Zendaya. While speaking with Cinemania, Tom Holland shared that he revealed Downey's big return to his wife, who co-signed the admission by saying he told her "right away."

"I think I hung up the phone and was like, 'Downey's coming back,'" Holland said with a laugh. Zendaya added that this was "literally" how it happened, noting they were "in the same room" when he received the call.

Tom Holland also admitted that Marvel is still keeping many details about Avengers: Doomsday under wraps due to his well-known history of accidentally revealing spoilers. The actor said he remains curious about what Downey's return as Doctor Doom could mean for Peter Parker. Before then, Holland will return alongside Zendaya in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 31, 2026.
