Tom Holland is not buying into the idea that artificial intelligence is coming for Hollywood’s jobs. As AI transforms the entertainment industry, fueling debates over scripts, digital doubles, and the future of creative work, studios, unions, and lawmakers continue wrestling with its implications.
But while fears about automation and authenticity dominate the conversation, Holland remains unfazed. In fact, the Spider-Man star believes AI cannot replace what he does, or what you do, and he is not shy about explaining why.

Speaking on the Spanish talk show El Hormiguero, Holland framed his view around the idea that what matters in art is lived experience, not processing power.
“Creativity is safe from AI because creativity has to do with the human experience. It’s about emotions, it’s about understanding one another.” Holland said.
For him, that’s the line AI can’t cross, even as it becomes more advanced. He expanded on that gap by focusing on emotion as the defining difference.
“AI can sift through data, but it can’t understand people’s emotions. It doesn’t understand the difference between being happy and being sad,” Holland said.
In his view, performance is built on contradictions and feelings that cannot be reduced to patterns. That belief shapes how he sees the future of creative work.
Rather than fearing replacement, Holland argues that AI lacks the core ingredient that makes storytelling resonate. He pointed out that artists are not just copying what exists, but expressing something deeply personal. Ultimately, his tone remains calm and confident. He suggested that audiences will always recognize authenticity when they see it. As long as that connection matters, he believes human creativity will remain unmatched.
That confidence in human storytelling carries directly into his most high-stakes role yet.
A darker road ahead in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Sony’s latest trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day leans into a heavier tone for Peter Parker. Set after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the story finds him living in near-total isolation. Without the support of those closest to him, he has fully embraced life as an anonymous protector.

The footage suggests a more battle-worn version of the character. A major moment teases a clash with Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, turning what could have been a team-up into a serious test of strength. At the same time, Peter appears to struggle with sudden changes in his powers as a new threat emerges in the city.
Together, it positions the film as both a continuation and a reinvention. Peter is no longer the wide-eyed hero audiences first met, but someone shaped by loss and responsibility. It is a story about rebuilding identity under pressure, something that mirrors the larger creative conversations Holland has been addressing.
