Tom Holland is in the middle of a huge stretch, first carrying the momentum of The Odyssey, then gearing up for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with whispers of an Avengers: Doomsday role still floating around. But beyond the capes and spectacle, he is now facing a very different challenge.

Stepping into Fred Astaire’s shoes and proving he can dance without a safety net.

Speaking on Good Morning America, Tom Holland said that what he loved most about his job was the challenges. He added that Fred Astaire was the next project they were planning to do and that, as soon as he finished the promotional tours, he would return to the dance studio.  Most notably, Holland said he wants to avoid shortcuts, explaining his.

“Desire to use no doubles, to do all of the dancing, to shoot those dances in one shot – how [Astaire] would have done it”.

Holland told Good Morning America It’s a bold aim, and it means the Spider-Man star may be heading into his toughest role yet. He also admitted the process has been both thrilling and intimidating.

“I did my first few rehearsals recently, and it both filled me with excitement and absolute dread because I’ve got so much work to do to try and do Fred proud,” he said.

That pressure feels unavoidable, because not only is he stepping into the legacy of one of cinema’s greatest performers, but he is also choosing to remove every safety layer that modern filmmaking usually provides.

That same willingness to push limits is also shaping what comes next in his superhero journey.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s final trailer shifts the focus back onto Peter Parker’s lonely post-No Way Home life while teasing a huge showdown with Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. The footage also gives a fresh look at Zendaya’s MJ swinging back into the action, even as Peter struggles with the weight of being forgotten by the people closest to him.

The trailer works like an emotional reset, revisiting Peter’s past and then pushing him into a far more dangerous present. It highlights the pressure of his double life, his broken connections, and the new threat that seems capable of turning his world upside down. Not only does it revisit the emotional cost of his choices, but it also builds toward a destructive clash with the Hulk that looks like one of the film’s biggest set pieces.

At the same time, the movie’s marketing keeps some things deliberately hidden, including Sadie Sink’s mystery role. That secrecy only makes the film feel bigger, because Marvel and Sony seem to be holding back key story turns for the release itself. And with Spider-Man still missing from the ongoing Avengers: Doomsday conversation, fans are already wondering whether Peter Parker’s next move will finally connect those larger multiverse threads.
