There may be no official confirmation of Spider-Man 5, but that has not stopped fans from talking about it. And one of the biggest questions is whether Tom Holland will return to reprise his role as the web-slinging superhero. The actor recently starred in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and has largely dodged questions about a potential sequel. 

But while speculation about a fifth movie continues, Holland has revealed his wish return to the MCU in a different role other than acting.

Tom Holland and Zendaya recently sat for a rapid-fire interview with Hugo Travers for HugoDécrypte - Grands formats. During the interview, the actor had to answer every question with only "yes" or "no." When asked if he would direct a Marvel movie one day, he initially hesitated before expressing his wish.

"Yeah, I guess I could," he said.

Now that Holland has revealed he has been part of the writers' room for the fourth Spider-Man project, he may eventually have a chance to step behind the camera as well. And having starred in several Marvel movies and worked closely with the franchise's filmmakers and actors, he already has experience. But could that project one day be Spider-Man 5?   

When asked whether he would return to star in Spider-Man 5 during the interview, Holland once again hesitated and chose to pass on the question. That means there is still no official update on a fifth film. However, Marvel insider Alex Perez previously told The Cosmic Circus that Holland's current deal could conclude with the current Spider-Man trilogy, suggesting that a fifth movie remains a possibility.

While Holland avoided giving a direct answer about Spider-Man 5, he did share a few ideas about what he would like to do next, drawing inspiration from The Odyssey.

Tom Holland is already thinking about how the next movie on Spider-Man could be different. The actor shared that working with Christopher Nolan on The Odyssey inspired him to rely more on practical filmmaking instead of heavy CGI. Holland hopes the next Spider-Man movie uses more real stunts and physical sets to make the action feel more realistic. 

"I come from the kind of superhero space, which I absolutely adore. I love playing [Spider-Man]. I think there are things that we could do in the future that can improve those movies by being more practical and finding ways to make people believe that what they're watching is real," he said as per Games Radar. 

He revealed that Spider-Man: Brand New Day has already taken a step in that direction with a real Spider-Man suit and practical stunt work. Moreover, Destin Daniel Cretton has also revealed how parkour footage inspiration and much more attempts to bring the movie closer to the audience. Holland believes this approach will make audiences feel more immersed in Peter Parker's world. If Marvel and Sony embrace his vision, Spider-Man 5 could feature a different style than previous MCU films.
