The ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home left Peter Parker erased from the memories of those closest to him, including MJ and Ned. That emotional reset carries directly into Spider-Man: Brand New Day, forcing the trio into unfamiliar territory as Zendaya explained in an exclusive interview with Nandoleaks that the characters are now living separate lives without Peter. Tom Holland then admitted that watching it unfold from the sidelines was not easy. Zendaya reflected on how strange it felt filming scenes where MJ and Ned shared moments without Peter.
“I was really jealous… i got really jealous like,” Tom Holland said in an exclusive interview with Nandoleaks.

He joked to Nandoleaks that while MJ and Ned enjoyed fun scenes together, Peter was left "off in the corner" watching before playfully trying to join their conversations between takes, only to be told it was "a bit of an us thing." The lighthearted exchange mirrored Peter Parker's isolation in the film, blurring the line between the characters' on-screen dynamic and the cast's behind-the-scenes experience.
The emotional challenge was not the only obstacle Tom Holland faced while filming the Marvel sequel.
Why was Tom Holland "really pissed off" while filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
Speaking on the Dish Podcast, Tom Holland revealed he attempted the same dehydration routine athletes use before weigh-ins, hoping it would make months of gym training stand out on camera. Instead of achieving the desired look, however, the process simply left him extremely thirsty and frustrated.
"It's like what athletes do to try and lose weight really quickly. But one of the side effects of it is that it really accentuates the work you've been doing in the gym. And for me, it didn't do any of that. It just really pissed me off cuz I was so thirsty," Holland told the Dish Podcast.
