Tim Allen has recently opened up about the challenges in the way of a Home Improvement reboot. Home Improvement became a major source of entertainment in the early ‘90s, and several factors were responsible for its rise in fame. First of all, audiences responded well to Tim Allen's portrayal of Tim Taylor, a handyman with a strong work ethic and a sense of humor. Secondly, the viewers connected with the show's relatable family dynamic, which portrayed individuals negotiating common family connections and issues.
With such an impact on popular culture, a reboot of the show was not such a bad idea. But Tim Allen has recently discussed the difficulties preventing the show from coming back to life.

The hugely popular sitcom, Home Improvement, which starred Tim Allen as a silly, fun-loving father to three sons and lasted for eight seasons starting in 1991, is finding it difficult to find a way back to the screen. Tim Allen recently discussed the difficulties associated with a possible revival of the cherished sitcom.
He clarified that persistent "personality problems" within the cast had impeded development in an interview with US Weekly. Allen claims that disagreements between his former co-stars frequently cause talks about continuing with the revival to halt. Zachery Ty Bryan, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, and Taran Noah Smith were explicitly identified by him as having "their own issues."
Allen, who portrayed Tim Taylor from 1991 to 1999, had an idea for a revival that would center on the three Taylor sons. However, the cast members' personal and professional trajectories have changed since the show's conclusion. He himself admitted in the US Weekly interview that there are difficulties in actualizing this idea with the original cast.
It is still unclear as to what exactly the personality problems are that are stopping such a beloved show from coming back to fans.
