Before the Straw Hats can even raise their sails for the next adventure, the pirate tides around One Piece are already crashing with excitement. With Season 2 having dropped anchor on March 10, 2026 on Netflix and fan chatter swirling about Season 3, including whispers of the fallen tyrant Wapol possibly sailing back for revenge, the pirate saga shows no sign of slowing.

And while fans must wait to see how those stormy seas unfold, here are three treasure-filled movies to keep the pirate spirit blazing.

Treasure Island (1990)

Before many modern pirate tales set sail across screens, the 1990 adaptation of Treasure Island charted a faithful voyage through one of the greatest treasure-hunting sagas ever written. Though released as a made-for-TV film, this version of Treasure Island sails proudly among the most loyal adaptations of the legendary pirate tale, carrying viewers into a stormy quest of hidden gold, secret maps and mutiny aboard the ship Hispaniola.

What truly hoists this voyage above many pirate adventures of its era is its formidable crew of performers. Charlton Heston commands the seas as the cunning Long John Silver, while a young Christian Bale steps into the boots of treasure seeker Jim Hawkins, joined by legendary names such as Oliver Reed, Christopher Lee, Julian Glover and Pete Postlethwaite.

While this voyage plunges into a stormy hunt for hidden treasure and mutiny aboard the Hispaniola, the next pirate adventure splashes onto the horizon for younger swashbucklers, Treasure Planet.

Treasure Planet (2002)

Setting sail beyond ordinary pirate waters, the 2002 Disney adventure Treasure Planet unfurls another treasure-hunting saga for young swashbucklers craving the thrill of legendary loot. Inspired by the timeless pirate tale Treasure Island, the cosmic voyage follows rebellious dreamer Jim Hawkins as he boards a solar-sailing ship and races across starry seas in search of the mythical Treasure Planet, where mutiny, betrayal and glittering fortunes await beyond the horizon.

Guiding this starbound expedition is a lively crew brought to life by an adventurous voice cast. Joseph Gordon-Levitt leads the charge as Jim Hawkins, joined by Brian Murray as the cunning yet charismatic pirate John Silver, with Emma Thompson as Captain Amelia and David Hyde Pierce as the eccentric Dr. Doppler, forming a crew ready to chart the galaxy in pursuit of treasure worthy of pirate legend.

However, while Treasure Planet and Treasure Island continue to keep pirate lovers hooked with their treasure-hunting sagas, the next voyage sails into even grander waters with Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, the film that launched one of the most successful pirate franchises ever made, one whose legacy remains so powerful that rumours of a possible Pirates of the Caribbean 6 are still drifting across Hollywood’s horizon.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl (2003)

Just when pirate adventures seemed to be drifting into forgotten waters after years of box-office flops, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl stormed into theatres and revived the swashbuckling saga in spectacular fashion. Directed by Gore Verbinski and inspired by Disney’s famous theme park ride, the 2003 blockbuster surprised Hollywood by turning a risky pirate tale into a massive cinematic treasure, eventually hauling in about $654.3 million worldwide.

At the centre of this high-seas adventure sails one of cinema’s most unforgettable rogues, the eccentric and disgraced pirate Jack Sparrow, brought to life by Johnny Depp. His unpredictable voyage soon crosses paths with blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), as the pair set sail to rescue Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), only to collide with cursed pirates commanded by Hector Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) and the relentless Royal Navy.
