MobLand is one of the shows that is on everyone’s feed, and not because of an amazing plot, phenomenal performances, or nerve-racking cliffhangers. Despite having all of that, it has specifically stuck in everyone’s mind because of what transpired behind the scenes. A couple of months back, rumors originated that Tom Hardy and Helen Mirren were feuding over some on-set drama, and that led to the producers firing him from the show.
Anyhow, Hardy returned for the second season, but till now nobody knows what actually happened and if the rumors of the tiff between the actors were even true.
Now, Tom Hardy has categorically addressed the whispers of the rumored feud, calling Mirren his friend.
Tom Hardy sets the record straight on alleged MobLand drama
After collaborating on the popular criminal thriller series MobLand, Tom Hardy has finally addressed rumors of a disagreement with renowned actress Helen Mirren, ending speculation about their connection. In a recent promotional interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hardy discussed the apparent beef and made it clear that Mirren is a friend.
"Helen's my friend. There is literally nothing to say because if you do say something, it becomes a story which it wasn't even in the first place," Hardy said in the interview.
"The best thing is to just say nothing and just carry on... there's no salacious, prurient attached to it, it's just, sometimes these things get sad," the actor concluded.

The actor seemed to be grateful for the support he got from Mirren amid the whole controversy and expressed how much it means to him, instead. But he also reminded everyone that she is his friend and the support and love were, in fact, mutual. With Hardy’s definitive statements via the Entertainment Tonight interview, it seems like there actually was no drama in the MobLand drama.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time Tom Hardy has addressed the rumors; in fact, other cast members have also played their part in putting these rumors to bed.
Tom Hardy and the MobLand cast trying to clear the rumors
The speculation first ignited around late May, 2026, amid reports of creative friction and scheduling hurdles during the production of Paramount+’s hit crime drama. Tabloid and industry whispers claimed that tensions had flared between the MobLand cast, pointing to an alleged clash of working styles. However, those rumors were emphatically squashed when actors Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and fellow co-star Pierce Brosnan reunited on the red carpet for the season 2 world premiere in London, sharing warm embraces and laughing off the chatter.

Amid all the drama, Tom Hardy is all set to reprise his role in the third season of the show, which got greenlit even before the season 2 premiere. For the upcoming third season of the popular crime thriller MobLand on the Paramount+ streaming service, Hardy will remain a member of the main acting trio, according to Deadline. So, we will definitely be seeing more of Harry Da Souza in the future.
