In July 2009, a routine drive on New York's Taconic State Parkway turned into one of the most baffling tragedies the region had seen in years, when Diane Schuler's minivan collided head-on with an oncoming SUV, k****** eight people, including herself, three young nieces, and her own daughter. What followed was years of speculation, conflicting toxicology reports, and a grieving family desperate for answers that never fully arrived, all of which were compiled in the documentary titled There's Something Wrong with Aunt Diane.

Fortunately, tracking down this haunting documentary today takes far less digging than the case itself ever did.

Although its political works usually bring home the awards, HBO has also dipped its cameras into true crime through titles such as M***** on a Sunday Morning and The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst.
