John Stewart may have landed his dream project, as Aaron Pierre suggests. The character made his debut in the HBO show Lanterns and quickly became widely beloved, along with the show's massive success. And clearly, there is an exciting future ahead for John Stewart in James Gunn's DC Universe, as he is set to make an appearance alongside Superman in Man of Tomorrow.

And Pierre, who played the character in the series, believes that this new project alongside Superman is a much-awaited moment for John Stewart.

Aaron Pierre recently appeared in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes to talk about his upcoming shows and movies. When asked about John Stewart in Man of Tomorrow, the actor opened up about how this could be a huge moment for his character. He shared that, in his opinion, getting the chance to fight against a universe-level threat is something his character, John Stewart, has always dreamed of.

"John has dreamed of, in my opinion and perspective of moments, like that, where there is a galactic threat and, and here is my moment to contribute to the saving of the world, saving of humanity, saving of peace and Harmony, and, um, so it's great to be with the band and get to rock and roll a little bit," he said.

Previously, in a conversation with ScreenRant's Ash Crossan about Lanterns, the actor was asked if the series offered any clues about where the character will be in Man of Tomorrow. Although Pierre did not share any details, he expressed his gratitude for having filmed the series and for getting the opportunity to explore the character of John Stewart before portraying him on the big screen. So, his character is prepared to face any big challenge, as he mentioned in his interview with Rotten Tomatoes.

Meanwhile, James Gunn is already looking ahead t, with plans for a new movie.

Whether there are questions about how the new movies and shows in the DC Universe will perform, one thing is certain and that is it will be packed with new content. James Gunn recently responded to a comment on Threads asking if he has any plans to write another movie anytime soon. He revealed that he is already writing his next movie.

“Already in it. I had to do something while I was waiting for the assembly!” he said. 

He further shared that the assembly cut of the movie starring David Corenswet as Superman is already complete. The movie is set for release in July 2027. Until then, the filmmaker will be occupied with writing the script for the next offering from the DC universe.
