The Friends theme song echoes in the background as you sit and watch this group of six friends set the friendship goal for every friend group. And it has been nearly 20 years since we collectively bobbed our heads to the nostalgic ‘I’ll be there for you.’ Somewhere, we all grew up between Phoebe’s eccentric personality and Joey’s utter love for food. Watching the 10 episodes of Friends was like watching this group of characters grow on screen. And their real-life chemistry was the cherry on top. 

But can you imagine what the cast would be like in real life if you aged the Friends characters? Although seeing your on-screen characters aged and then playing the same roles doesn’t feel natural, this Snapchat aging filter was scarily accurate.

Filters totally add to the fun and excitement of everyday boring pictures. A while ago, AI turned the Friends actors into a surprising ethnic group, leaving the internet in splits. And now a TikToker took the internet by storm by trying out this shockingly accurate Snapchat filter. Using the aging filter of Snapchat as a fun experiment, the user the filter on one of the episodes to see how that character would look when they became older. And it was like a time machine.

The characters are aged astonishingly similar to real-life actors. Starting from Courtney Cox to Jennifer Aniston, all of them look exactly like how they look aged in real life after almost 20 years since the show aired. Who would have thought that this filter would be a real-time machine? 

The article by Unilad documented some of the fans’ reactions. A user chimed in saying that “Phoebe and Joey and Ross are all so accurate,” while another quickly pointed out how “This is very bad news for me.” Well oops, new fear unlocked. And, we think we all can agree on “So Jennifer really doesn’t age. AI or real life.” Because yes, she definitely doesn’t.

The Friends cast aren’t the only ones who were tested with the filter. And they weren’t the only celebrities who traveled ahead in time.

Kylie Jenner did not really sit well with this filter. The Kardashians billionaire posted a picture using the filter and added, ‘I don’t like it… I don’t like it at all, no, no.’ Well, we’ll only know 10 years down the line about how accurately it worked on Jenner. 

Meanwhile, an interactive article by BuzzFeed showed 23 celebrities with filters on and tested if we could identify them. Although pretty easy, the wait will definitely be worth it to see if Snapchat just invented a virtual time machine to show aging effects.
