Yueting Lang had exuded authority as Wang Xuemei, the lead police inspector overseeing the Shadow case. Her extensive experience with numbers such as Mountain Cry, Seven Killings and Blind Detective which would go on to earn her the  Asian Newcomer Award at the 20th Busan International Film Festival in 2015, have all lent her a commanding and credible presence needed for The Shadow's Edge. Lang’s portrayal has emphasized resilience, intelligence, and strategic leadership in the character as she guides her team through the murky waters of espionage.
