Heather Matarazzo candidly shared her concerns about the SAG-AFTRA health insurance plan. The actress is best known for playing Lilly Moscovitz in The Princess Diaries, while many may also recognise her from The Devil’s Advocate and Scream 3. Last year, Matarazzo appeared as Judi Spannagel in Netflix’s Wednesday.

However, the actress revealed that she would need to find work soon or risk losing her health insurance through SAG-AFTRA.

The conversation began with Atypical star Jack Haven, who recently revealed that they need to find work soon to be eligible for their health insurance through SAG-AFTRA. Heather Matarazzo also took to social media to respond to the situation. Responding to a post about Haven's comment, the actress shared that she is currently in a similar position.

“I am literally in the same boat right now. Lots of my fellow actors are. I remember a time when we didn’t have to earn a minimum to qualify for insurance. Glad to see that Jack has gotten an offer that will let them to qualify for 2027,” she wrote.

For those who are not aware, the guild offers a health plan for its members. However, members are required to meet a certain “minimum earnings” threshold to be eligible for coverage. According to the SAG-AFTRA Health Plan’s eligibility page, the minimum earnings requirement is expected to continue rising in the coming years. This year, members are required to earn $28,933, while that number could increase to $29,801 by 2028.

The Netflix Wednesday star Matarazzo shared about her situation after Haven took to social media to ask for qualifying SAG-AFTRA work.

Jack Haven recently shared a YouTube video titled “Are You Casting?”, in which they asked for qualifying SAG-AFTRA work. The actor explained that they have this deadline to get work because of their SAG-AFTRA health insurance coverage, which will begin in January 2027. Haven added that they have a range of skills, from singing to dancing, and are willing to take on any gigs.

“I’m in a bit of an emergency situation,” Haven said. “I need to make $4,000 by the end of the month in order to qualify for SAG health insurance starting in January.”

As per Reality Tea, the actor also spoke about their ability to perform various accents, adding that they can speak with a British accent, which could be useful for certain productions. Haven is best known for their role in Netflix’s Atypical, along with appearances in several other shows. As Haven’s plea gained traction online, the actor has received both support and criticism from fans.
