'The Muppet Show' Is Back in 2026 and Here’s How You Can Watch It

Nostalgia is in full swing as The Muppet Show made its long-awaited return to the small screen. Celebrating 50 years since the original series first aired, beloved characters, Miss Piggy, Kermit, Fozzie, and Gonzo were back doing what they do best, and that is bringing chaos, charm, and plenty of laughs. This time, they even had some big Hollywood names joining in on the fun.
Maya Rudolph, Seth Rogen, and Sabrina Carpenter made cameo appearances in the special, which premiered on Wednesday, February 4. And with brand-new music and comedy sketches, this anniversary special cannot be missed, so here is how to watch the nostalgic celebration.

The special edition for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show aired at 9 p.m. on ABC. And the series is now available to stream on Disney+. This edition follows the recent projects, including The Muppets (2015), Muppets Now (2020), and The Muppets Mayhem (2023).
So, even after all these years, The Muppet Show and the iconic characters, including Miss Piggy is still deeply beloved. With nostalgia and excitement at their peak, the special earned a rare 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes even before its premiere. And much like in the past, the humor and charm were unmatched.
Another fun part of the edition was its celebrity cameos, including Sabrina Carpenter. The singer even claimed that Miss Piggy was her style inspiration.
The Muppet Show: Is Miss Piggy Sabrina Carpenter’s inspiration?
Among the many entertaining moments in the return of The Muppet Show, one was Sabrina Carpenter’s cameo. During her appearance, Carpenter made her admiration for Miss Piggy and her style quite clear. Calling Miss Piggy her idol, Carpenter even said in the show that she has modeled her style after her.
“Miss Piggy, I’m sure you get this all the time—I actually meant to tell you earlier—but you’re my idol,” she said on The Muppet Show, as per E!News. “Yeah I’ve basically modeled my whole look and style after you.”
Keeping up on the humor, Miss Piggy joked that she has noticed the resemblance.

“Oh trust me, my attorneys and I have taken notice, and we will be in touch,” she said.
The special also features a cameo from Seth Rogen, who serves as an executive producer on the project. With that, this edition was something that the longtime fans can enjoy, while still something new enough to pull in a new generation of viewers. It has managed to be both refreshing and nostalgic.
