The Miniature Wife is about a couple, Les and Lindy, on their last shot at saving their marriage. But trying to talk things through and set things right is not exactly easy when one partner (Lindy) is unexpectedly shrunk to just six inches tall. However, the show opens with the promise of a love story, assuring that things will get better before they get worse. 

Yet, their many ups and downs leave that promise hanging by a thread. So, by the end of its ten-episode journey, does the couple find the spark again, or does Lindy begin to consider a whole new life as six inches tall?

Created by Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner, The Miniature Wife follows scientist Les (Matthew Macfadyen) and his author wife Lindy (Elizabeth Banks) as they seek a new chance in their marriage and promise to renew their vows on their anniversary. But when Les tries to postpone renewing their vows for work, it becomes the final straw for Lindy, and she decides to leave him. However, during their argument in the kitchen, Lindy gets sprayed by Les’ experimental chemical and gets shrunk to 6 inches tall.

Now, a tiny-sized Lindy, amidst a major career crisis, slowly discovers her husband’s several lies about how she got miniaturized and the lack of a restoration formula. Meanwhile, Les struggles to maintain peace with his wife as well as making a formula that brings his wife to normal size without blowing her to bits. Despite several hurdles and being watched by the investors' watchdog, Viviene, Les finds success in his experiment, though there is more to this.

The final episode of the show begins with Les asking Lindy for help to break into the lab and steal the vial of restoration formula. While she agrees to help, Lindy also breaks any hope that Les had to revive their marriage. Now, with Martin and Richard on board, they successfully smuggle Lindy inside the lab in a pizza box with Janet's help. 

But the twist is that the investors, Hilton Smith and Viviene, had already confiscated the formula, while Janet reveals that she no longer has access to the servers. This left Les with one choice, which was to synthesize the formula himself as well as make the decision to sacrifice his legacy and blow up the lab to stop the formula from falling into the wrong hands.

He tasks Janet with helping to activate the explosion of the thermal energy storage tank below the building while he himself breaks into the lab. Once inside, Les is forced to rely on his memory to make the restoration formula while Lindy gets captured by Viviene. Although they manage to escape Viviene, much thanks to Lindy disabling her with a stun gun, the vials fall through the sill gap of an elevator. But this time, Lindy was no longer left alone in her mission. 

Les also turns himself six inches tall and jumps together with Lindy through the sill gap and manages to leave the lab before the explosion. While they have the restoration formula, a confused Les, who is unsure of whether the formula is mixed correctly, takes the leap of faith and tries the formula himself first before trying it on his wife. 

Much to his relief, he survives the 3-minute test and reaches limitless stability in his normal size. And soon the formula is applied to both Lindy and Richard to restore them. As Lindy is restored to her size, the biggest question is what happened to their marriage after their several attempts to destroy each other.

Although The Miniature Wife focuses on the tech mishap, it was also about Lindy's relationship with her husband and daughter, Lulu. Lindy’s situation already softened Lulu's heart, which gave her the chance to clear misunderstandings. And before their tough mission to steal the restoration formula, she also made one final attempt to fix things with her daughter.

With help from Richard, Lindy takes to TikTok to admit that she was tempted to take credit for her student's work after a misunderstanding and clarifies that her daughter's claims of plagiarism were right. As for Les and Lindy, the misadventure, chaotic journey, and their mission together eventually brought them closer. While Les admits his ego and vows to change, Lindy also makes promises to take more accountability.

By the end, this abnormal story inspires Lindy to write about it, which she shares with Les. And he happily agreed to support her. Although the chaos and events throughout the show made it difficult to see if the couple would end up together, they do. And it might be safe to say, the show was able to bring a satisfying closure to the story as well as the characters' journeys.
