'The Hunger Games' Trailer First Reactions: Fans Go Bonkers as New Glimpse Feels Straight Out of the Books

In 2023, the Hunger Games franchise, a beloved dystopian survival action-thriller, released The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, which explored the origins of the main antagonist, Coriolanus Snow, and became a huge hit among the audience. The success prompted Lionsgate to announce a second prequel movie, Sunrise on the Reaping, right after the announcement of the book by author Suzanne Collins. The book was released in 2025 and was loved by the readers for a befitting origin story for Haymitch Abernathy, one of the well-respected characters from the original movies. 

Now, the latest Hunger Games movie, which was in the reckoning since its announcement in 2024, is inching closer to its November release.
