In its Q2 2026 Shareholder Letter, Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed development on Aegon's Conquest. Written by Beau Willimon, the prequel follows Aegon I Targaryen alongside his sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys, as they invade and unite the Seven Kingdoms. The major theatrical event film is set for release beyond 2027.

“Beyond 2027, the slate will continue to leverage iconic intellectual property, including the theatrical event film Aegon's Conquest from the Game of Thrones universe, the next installment of The Matrix, the next Batman film, and a live-action Jetsons film starring Jim Carrey,” Warner Bros. Discovery said in its Q2 2026 Shareholder Letter.
