From teen heartthrob to an Oscar-nominated actor, Jacob Elordi has had quite the evolution over the years in the industry. The choices he made over the course of his career have defined the actor he is now. But what defines him as a man, as a human being? It is most likely his family who raised him to be the fine young man he is now.

As The Dog Stars actor continues his upward ascent in stardom, people who have their eyes continuously on his journey as an actor would like to see the man beyond that persona, and for that, they need to have an understanding of his bare beginnings, which start with his family.

Jacob Elordi has a very loving and close-knit family setup, and here is everything one needs to know about them.

Meet Jacob Elordi’s parents

On June 26, 1997, Elordi was born in Brisbane, Australia, to his parents, John and Melissa Elordi. According to PEOPLE, John's family is originally from the Basque region in Europe, which is a small place somewhere between France and Spain. He moved to Australia when he was eight years old and is currently employed as a house painter.

According to the magazine, Jacob's Australian mother raised all four of her children when they were growing up as a stay-at-home mom alongside her husband. Jacob had a close relationship with his mother as a child, who made an effort to spend as much time as possible with him. In August 2022, he told GQ how Melissa offered to work in the school's lunchroom so she could spend time with him as he ate the lunch she had prepared.

Although his parents are very supportive of his career, they were a little wary of it at the beginning, especially his father. However, their concerns were assuaged by the success of his initial projects like The Kissing Booth and Euphoria. According to GQ, Melissa and John are proud of their son's achievements and even own T-shirts with pictures of nearly every character he has portrayed.

Melissa and John had three girls before they welcomed Jacob, and Jacob told GQ that they were "relatively much older" than him. The Elordi family relocated from Brisbane, where Jacob was born, to Melbourne so Isabella, one of his sisters, could pursue her studies as a ballet dancer at The Australian Ballet School. The other sister’s name is Jalynn, on whom there is not much information available on public platforms. The same is the case with his third sister, whose name is not even mentioned anywhere.
