Women’s college basketball carries the same competitive spirit as the professional game. The upcoming documentary The Dynasty: UConn Huskies explores a similar story through the UConn Huskies, which made history under the guidance of head coach Geno Auriemma.

The Dynasty: UConn Huskies will take a closer look at the University of Connecticut, which is home to one of the most successful college basketball programs in history. Some of the best WNBA players, many of whom have gone on to make history in the professional league and win Olympic medals, came through the program. And the program was led by head coach Geno Auriemma. 

The documentary will feature never-before-seen archival footage, the team’s struggles, and several other memorable moments from its history. It comes after Fight for Glory: 2024 as part of Apple TV’s efforts to expand its library of sports stories. The documentary will also feature notable figures from the basketball world.

The Dynasty: UConn Huskies will feature exclusive interviews with members of the 2025 national championship team. The documentary will also bring back notable current and former basketball players who became an important part of the university’s storied legacy. KK Arnold, Auriemma, Sue Bird, Paige Bueckers, Jim Calhoun, Swin Cash, Chris Dailey, Mickie DeMoss, Jana El Alfy, Jamelle Elliott, Azzi Fudd, Jeff Goldberg, Sally Jenkins, Steve Kerr, Rebecca Lobo, Jackie MacMullan, Maya Moore, Alex Philippou, Shea Ralph, Semeka Randall, Jennifer Rizzotti, Breanna Stewart, Sarah Strong, Diana Taurasi and Tamika Williams-Jeter are set to appear in the documentary.

The Dynasty: UConn Huskies is set to premiere on August 21, 2026. The three-part docuseries from Skydance Sports is directed by Matthew Hamachek and Erica Sashin and will premiere on Apple TV. With the college basketball regular season still months away, the series, which gives a glimpse at one of the sport’s most successful programs and the legacy it has built over the years, would be an exciting sports docuseries to watch this Summer.
