The film follows President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev as they meet at the Reykjavík Summit during the Cold War. The two met to discuss a nuclear arms deal in 1986. Although it is a dramatized version of the event, the film draws heavily from real events.
While the film’s premise and the director's dedication clearly promises an intriguing watch, it also features a talented cast who showed spectacular performances.

Jeff Daniels: Jeff Daniels played the role of Ronald Reagan. The Primetime Emmy Award-winning actor is well known for his roles in The Newsroom, the Netflix miniseries Godless, and more.
Jared Harris: Jared Harris is an award-winning actor. He previously starred in AMC period drama series Mad Men, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Lincoln, The Expanse, and the AMC supernatural horror series The Terror. He is also well known for playing the role of Valery Legasov in the HBO miniseries Chernobyl (2019). In this movie, he played the role of Mikhail Gorbachev.

J.K. Simmons: J.K. Simmons is well known for his role in Aaron Sorkin's Being the Ricardos. He also appeared in The Cider House Rules, Juno, Jennifer's Body, Terminator Genisys, and La La Land. He played the role of George Shultz in The Brink of War.
Aya Cash played the role of journalist Cleo in the film. Hope Davis, Branka Katić, Guy Burnet, and John Ross Bowie are the rest of the cast. And with Jeff Daniels and Jared Harris stepping into the roles of Reagan and Gorbachev, The Brink of War promises to bring one of the most crucial and tense meetings of the past that will be worth watching.
