The Boys is coming to an end soon after an explosive five-season run filled with corrupt and narcissistic superheroes, over-the-top gory violence, and dark humor. However, the show has already expanded its universe through several spinoffs. While some have already made their way to the screen, as The Boys picked up steam over the last few years, more spinoff series are set to follow after the original show concludes.

So, here are all the spinoff shows to explore after The Boys wraps up its biggest battle in the Season 5 finale on May 20.

The first in line is Gen V, starring Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, and Lizze Broadway, which ran from 2023 to 2025. It is a live-action series following young adult superheroes at Godolkin University, run by Vought. The show ended after two seasons in April 2026, but its characters are set to appear in The Boys Season 5. It is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

Another spinoff is the animated series The Boys Presents: Diabolical, which arrived in 2022. The series explored different standalone stories set in the universe of The Boys. It is also available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

Another upcoming series is Vought Rising, which is set to be a prequel and is expected to arrive in 2027. It will focus on the early days of Vought in the 1950s and will feature The Boys characters like Soldier Boy and a young Stormfront. Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, who play Soldier Boy and Stormfront, are expected to return alongside several new characters.

Another upcoming series currently in development is the Spanish-language spinoff of The Boys. While the show is expected to be set in Mexico, further details about the plot and characters have not yet been revealed. It is also set to be produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.

Now, while The Boys universe clearly has the potential to expand more, the original show is coming to an end just as Eric Kripke planned, although it took much effort to get there.

Eric Kripke had to convince the studio for The Boys ending

The showrunner of The Boys, Eric Kripke, was confident by Season 3 that he wanted to end the show with Season 5, considering its story, character arcs, and overall direction. However, he had to convince Prime Video to finally bring the series to an end. After all, The Boys has been hugely successful and much loved by fans.

While the showrunner had expressed fear about how audiences would react to the final season’s ending, Kripke has also clapped back at those who misinterpreted the final season. As many viewers called the character-heavy storytelling of Season 5 slow and filled with 'filler' episodes, Kripke argued that the show is not just about intense action, explosions, and bloodbaths, but also about its deeper message, which is that people should focus on saving themselves and their loved ones rather than waiting for someone. But regardless of the ending, the finale is bound to spark conversation.
