Eric Kripke on the pacing of the series finale
In a recent discussion with Steve Weintraub in Collider, Eric Kripke clarified that the series finale will not follow the trend of bloated, feature-length runtimes. He stated that the final episode will likely clock in at approximately sixty-five minutes rather than a ninety-minute spectacle.
“It’s not. It’s like an hour and five. We’re not doing that huge, super-sized 90-minute thing”, Kripke noted. He believes that a more concise duration prevents the audience from becoming bored while keeping the action-packed and impactful.
“I think the audience might have ended up getting bored had we gone that long”, said Kripke. The final season will feature the return of foundational stars such as Karl Urban and Antony Starr to resolve their long-standing rivalry.
Fans can also expect a significant expansion of the cast, including a highly anticipated Supernatural reunion with Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins. The intensity remains at a peak as the flagship series prepares to end and pass the torch to its international counterparts.
As the main story concludes, the franchise is already planting seeds for a comedic and cultural shift southward.
The future of the franchise in Mexico city
According to another Collider report, The Boys: Mexico is moving forward with a script that has reportedly received positive feedback from Amazon executives. Written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer and executive produced by Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna, this spin-off is currently in the development phase.
Eric Kripke confirmed that the pilot script is very funny and will offer a fresh perspective on the established universe. This international iteration is set to take place after the events of the fifth season, providing a chronological continuation of the world. The production team aims to create a narrative that feels unique yet worthy of the established brand name.

Although the main series is ending, the expansion into Mexico City proves that the influence of Compound V is far from over.
