Some co-stars share chemistry, while others accidentally stumble into a full-fledged father-daughter dynamic, and Dafne Keen and Hugh Jackman belong firmly in the latter category. Their fierce, heartfelt pairing in Logan turned them into an iconic duo, but Jackman’s dad duties did not stop when the cameras did. Keen recently revealed that the Wolverine star made sure nobody messed with her on set, even when it came to long working hours.

Between protecting her on set and keeping an eye on her well-being, he proved that playing Laura’s dad came with some real-life practice.

Some dads pack lunchboxes, while others break into impromptu dance sessions between takes. Dafne Keen recently opened up about Hugh Jackman’s delightfully goofy yet deeply caring side during the filming of Logan while speaking on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum. With Jackman preparing for The Greatest Showman and Keen being a trained dancer and acrobat who grew up loving musicals, the two found plenty of reasons to break into singing and dancing on set.

“He has he's just like the best number one you could ever wish for and he's the best like onscreen dad,” Keen said brightly.

She added that Jackman was not just busy keeping the atmosphere appropriate. The Wolverine star also made sure his young co-star was having fun, receiving proper encouragement, and never being taken advantage of when it came to working hours.

“He was so incredibly protective,” Keen recalled.

Speaking further on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, Keen revealed that Jackman’s support went well beyond looking out for her during long shoots. He made her feel like a genuine colleague rather than a child who happened to be in the movie.

“They were all really good on that set at making me really feel like a grown-up and making me really feel like a respectable artist,” she explained.

If she had an opinion about a scene, the crew would genuinely consider it, and Jackman would listen without ever making her feel small. Yet the adults also understood that she was still a kid, giving her room to goof around and be silly.
