Henry Cavill may have left The Witcher, but the Geralt in him lives on. One of Netflix’s most beloved shows managed to capture the audience in just two seasons is The Witcher. Cavill’s addition only made people believe that the role was made for him. Naturally, the news of him exiting the show was not taken kindly. The actor knew about the character years before he was cast in it. Having read the books and played the games, he could relate to Geralt well. So much so that he would point out people’s mistakes on the sets.

In a throwback interview, he even explained the one thing that he and Geralt have in common.

How Henry Cavill once shared a common trait between him and his The Witcher character

Henry Cavill is known for being articulate and geeky but also a gym hunk. The actor is many things that fans wanted in their Superman or Geralt. It would seem he is more Geralt than any of his other characters. In an interview with GQ magazine, while he broke down all his iconic characters, the Britisher himself pointed out a common personality trait between him and the Geralt of Rivia. As per him, both of them are used to isolation and shared how, “that aspect of Geralt was easier to tap into” for him while prepping for the role.

He explained how the life of an actor is often isolated. The actor had been traveling around for work alone for years. Even his character in the Netflix series is shown to be a one-man army. Geralt travels through forests and valleys on his mission, and the mystical character prefers his own company.

The actor also focused on trying to make the character the way it was written in the original novels and did heavy research to give justice to it. Although it will be seen how the series moves on without him now.

What happens to The Witcher next?

Henry Cavill will be appearing in The Witcher one last time for Season 3. Following that, Liam Hemsworth will take his place to continue the show. It is rumored that one of the reasons he left the show is because he wanted it to stay true to the book source as much as possible. Although fans still want him back in the role considering his relatability to the character. You can watch Cavill as The Witcher one last time in season 3 as it lands on 29th June.
