However, the love and nostalgia for classic rom-coms from the 80s and 90s have remained timeless this year, even decades after their releases. One such beloved classic is 10 Things I Hate About You, starring Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

From romance, heartbreaks, and swoon-worthy moments to teen drama and unforgettable humor, the movie is special for older fans and has also found a place among younger viewers. Here is how to watch the movie in 2026.

10 Things I Hate About You is available to watch on Disney+. The movie is also available to rent on Amazon Prime. Starring Heath Ledger opposite Julia Stiles, the film was the directorial debut of Gil Junger.

After its release in 1999, the film was a success, earning $53.5 million worldwide. However, over the years, it became a cult classic, featuring some of the most notable actors, including Stiles, Ledger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gabrielle Union, and many more. Not to mention, the film’s themes also played a role in contributing to its popularity.

The film follows Cameron, who falls in love with Bianca, but her overprotective father does not allow her to date anyone until her older sister, Kat, does. This is when Cameron hires Patrick to attempt to date the antisocial Kat. What follows is Patrick’s pursuit of Kat, filled with plenty of hilarious and romantic ups and downs.

Memories of the movie were likely rekindled when the entire cast came together for a heartwarming tribute to the late actor Heath Ledger.

Julia Stiles, who is competing on Dancing With the Stars, paid tribute to her former co-star Heath Ledger with a performance of 'Can’t Take My Eyes Off You' alongside her dance partner, Ezra Sosa. As fans may remember, Ledger’s character, Patrick, famously performed Frankie Valli’s song from the bleachers while Kat Stratford was at soccer practice in 10 Things I Hate About You. For the performance, the film’s cast also reunited on the show to honor the late actor.

“I said, if we had to have someone with us on stage representing Heath’s legacy or the film, I said it had to be the whole cast. I begged them, each and every one of them, and they all rallied,” she told Variety. 

Speaking about the tribute, Stiles told Variety that the rehearsals were quite emotional. She recalled how listening to the song, along with her own voice and Ledger’s, brought back memories. As Stiles hopes, her performance may have also touched many people and reminded them of Ledger and the movie.
