The toxic group of friends has finally said goodbye with the last episode of Tell Me Lies season 3, bringing a closure to the scandals, lies, and secrets that made the show so popular. However, it ended in bigger chaos and drama than ever. It had a string of confessions and shocking revelations, such as it was Bree who leaked Lucy’s confessional tape.

Meanwhile, Lucy made one final, devastating mistake. And as the show comes to an end, Creator Meaghan Oppenheimer and Grace Van Patten, who plays Lucy, looked back at what the decision meant for Lucy and the ending.

Lucy’s final decision in Tell Me Lies was crucial to the character

After Stephen ruins Bree and Evan’s wedding in Tell Me Lies, he asks Lucy to walk away with him. And unsurprisingly, Lucy made the leap only to be left alone at the gas station. However, rather than breaking into tears, Lucy laughs at the bizarre situation.

For Grace Van Patten, who played the role shared that this final mistake was important for Lucy to finally let go of Stephen.

“She’s always subconsciously looking for a sliver of an opening to go back to him, and she did, and she got that confirmation she needed. That’s why I love that she laughs at the end, because you think she might cry, and then it’s like, “Oh, my God. I see it perfectly now.” There’s freedom in that, relief in that,” she said.

Meaghan Oppenheimer also agreed with Grace Van Patten and added that because Lucy was ashamed of the situation with Bree and Evan, she chose Stephen over everything else. But in the end, that final decision was the only way for her to be free of the toxic connection.

“We’ve learned that Stephen will only let someone go if he makes the decision, and so if she had turned him down, she wouldn’t be free of him,” she said.

As for the revelation of Bree leaking Lucy’s tape, Van Patten admitted feeling shocked, considering the bonding between the two friends shown in season 2. However, as reported by Variety, she added that this will also be a new development for Lucy.

The final episode of Tell Me Lies answered several questions that had tortured viewers for a long time. But another question is about the fate of Bree and Wrigley.

Do Bree and Wrigley end up together in Tell Me Lies?

Safe to say a majority of Tell Me Lies fans have wanted Bree and Wrigley to end up together. And it seems the creator’s opinion was not very different. Although there was no clear confirmation of the two ending up together, the finale did hint that they might give their relationship a shot.

Amid all the chaos, the two are seen sharing a look and smiling at each other. Much like the fans, the creator also hopes that the two will find a way to make it work after this huge mess. And that speaks much about their fate.

Although the ending was highly dramatic, it ultimately seemed to bring justice and the much-needed closure, according to the creators and the stars.
