Disney has finally and officially found its Rapunzel! After the success of the 2010 animated film, Tangled, there has been anticipation for a live-action adaptation. With that excitement came endless speculation about the movie's production and who would be cast in the lead roles. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi brought Rapunzel and Flynn Rider to life through their voices in the beloved 2010 favorite. 

While names such as Sadie Sink and Mackenzie Foy have often been in the rumors, Disney ultimately chose the Titans star to play the princess.

After much speculation, Disney has now officially confirmed its lead cast for the live-action movie based on Tangled. Australian actress Teagan Croft, who played the role of Rachel in DC’s Titans, will play Rapunzel. Teagan Croft, who was born in 2004, has an impressive resume, having worked in local theater productions and commercials before turning to films and series. 

As for the role of Flynn Ride, American actor Milo Manheim is expected to take the job. He is well known for playing the role of Zed in Disney Channel’s Zombies. 

Earlier, Scarlett Johansson was rumored to join the cast to play Mother Gothel, who is the evil captor of Rapunzel. Until Disney reveals all the names involved in the project, nothing is confirmed. However, this announcement of the lead roles of the cast is a huge step toward the movie’s production.

Although the lead roles have been confirmed, speculation continues about the remaining cast, with the film still some time away from its release.

With the lead roles now confirmed, attention has shifted toward the release date of Disney’s live-action adaptation of Tangled. Disney has not yet announced an official release date for the film. However, its arrival is expected sometime between 2027 and 2028.

Tangled is one of Disney’s most popular animated films, so the expectations are also high for its live-action adaptation. With a talented cast of Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim, whether the upcoming movie can keep up with the hopes remains to be seen. Till then, fans can continue to watch some of the best shows inspired by fairy tales like Rapunzel.
