Ben Affleck brings Harrison Ford into the conversation after receiving massive praise from notable filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. The 54-year-old recently starred alongside Matt Damon in the thriller The Rip. From the action scenes to Damon and Affleck’s brilliant friendship and on-screen chemistry, the movie received rave reviews, along with a few special words from the Kill Bill director.

As Tarantino made a claim about a few of the duo’s previous movies being taken for granted, Affleck also shared a few more words on the filmmaker’s opinion.

Ben Affleck explains Quentin Tarantino’s bold claim

Ben Affleck, in his interview with GQ for One More Question, was asked about Quentin Tarantino’s particular claim in his review of Affleck and Matt Damon’s movie The Rip. While the director had massive praise for the movie, he claimed that their previous films were “taken for granted.” During the interview, Affleck explained the comment.

"It sounds to me like kind of what he's getting at there is a basic truth, which is that familiarity, well, for one thing, creates the sense of something is not special or new,” he said. “And also not every movie works.”

During his conversation with GQ’s Zach Baron, he further used Harrison Ford’s career as an example, explaining that Ford had a legendary streak of appearing in some of the biggest movies. Affleck added that it is hard for actors to maintain such an impressive run. He also explained that playing it safe can be boring, and that to do something refreshingly new and special, actors have to take risks, which sometimes do not work out.

"From the inside of this world, I look at it kind of as more of a batting average thing," he said.

After The Rip, Affleck was supposed to bring Damon on for yet another project, Animals. This time, Affleck was set to direct the movie, which he also wrote, while Damon would play the lead role. However, their plans eventually fell apart due to delays, which led to Damon’s exit.
