Sydney Sweeney Shuts Down Production Company Previously Co-Founded With Ex-Fiancé

There is a particular cadence to the way Hollywood reinvents itself every year, but few stars operationalize reinvention quite like Sydney Sweeney. ‘New year, new me’ is usually a soft launch, an aesthetic pivot, a strategic role, a carefully worded profile. Sweeney, however, has treated 2026 like a corporate restructuring. First came her new side quest: the lingerie brand SYRN, a calculated expansion of her image into lifestyle commerce. There is no going back now, and her latest move only cements that reality.

The decision at the center of this pivot is not about a red carpet or a casting rumor. It involves a business endeavor, one that quietly redraws the power map behind her career.

Sydney Sweeney has reportedly dissolved the production company she previously co-founded with her ex-fiancé, Jonathan Davino. The banner, Fifty-Fifty Films LLC, was launched in January 2019 after the pair reportedly began dating in 2018. Their engagement ended in March 2025. Per official records, as recently as May 2025, both were listed as managers of the company.

On December 12, 2025, documents were filed with the State of California requesting the dissolution of Fifty-Fifty Films LLC, with a box checked indicating the action was approved by a vote of all members. In January 2026, Sweeney’s team filed paperwork to form Fifty-Fifty Films, Inc. She is now listed as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Secretary, with no vacant board seats.

Fifty-Fifty Films described itself as an “independent production studio,” backing Sweeney’s horror film Immaculate and her rom-com Anyone But You, co-starring Glen Powell. But the restructuring arrives amid pointed whispers. In Hollywood, authorship is currency, and Sweeney appears determined to own hers outright.

And while the corporate filings tell one story, the box office tells another.

The Housemaid becomes Sydney Sweeney’s highest-grossing film

Lionsgate reports that The Housemaid is projected to make an estimated $385 million at the global box office after nearly two months in theaters. That officially makes it the highest-grossing film of Sydney Sweeney’s career based on original release totals, surpassing Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which earned over $377 million worldwide in its initial run, plus a 2024 re-release added $16 million, bringing that film’s cumulative total to $393 million.

The rebound is especially significant after a difficult 2025 slate. Her Echo Valley went straight to Apple TV, while Americana, Eden, and Christy struggled theatrically. A sequel based on The Housemaid’s Secret is in development, with Sweeney and director Paul Feig returning, production is expected to begin in 2026. Sweeney is also set to star in the movie adaptation of The Custom of the Country, opposite Leo Woodall.
