Sydney Sweeney Showcases Her Sense of Humor, as She Makes a Witty Joke about HBO

Sydney Sweeney started her film career somewhere around 2009. From doing short cameos in Emmy Award-winning shows like Grey’s Anatomy to getting her own Emmy nomination, the actress has come a long way. Though Sweeney struggled a lot at the beginning, she finally got a significant role in HBO’s Sharp Objects. More importantly, it was the beginning of something new for the actress.

In 2018, Sweeney got the role of Alice in HBO’s limited-edition drama series Sharp Objects. Apart from her, the show starred Patricia Clarkson, Eliza Scanlen, and Amy Adams. She talked about the series when she recently appeared on the ‘Awards Chatter’ podcast of The Hollywood Reporter and the host asked about her first break. When she confirmed it was Sharp Objects, he termed it the beginning of a beautiful friendship with HBO.

In reply, Sweeney showcased her amazing sense of humor and said, “I love my HBO family.” By saying this, she affirmed her numerous partnerships with the production house. Though her role in Sharp Objects did not have a lot of screen time, she did leave an impression on the audience.

After Sharp Objects, Sweeney got the chance to play the role, which changed the direction of her entire career. She got the chance to play Cassie Howard on Euphoria, which became the most iconic role she has played to date. After that, she received the chance to play Olivia Mossbacher in The White Lotus yet again for HBO.

Surprisingly, Sweeney received double Emmy nominations for both of these shows. Apart from these two, she worked on several films for production, including The Voyeurs, in which her role was appreciated by the critics.

Very soon, her film Reality will be released, and HBO Max has yet again gotten the rights. Tina Satter has directed this biopic, which is based on the life of the NSA whistleblower Reality Winner. She was accused of leaking confidential data to Russians during the 2016 elections. Sweeney is currently in New York for its premiere, and the film will officially release on May 29.
