Sydney Sweeney’s ‘Euphoria’ OnlyFans Arc Sparks Backlash From Adult Creators

Real OnlyFans creators are calling out Euphoria season 3 for portraying their industry as wildly inaccurate, and the backlash is loud. The show drops Sydney Sweeney's Cassie Howard into adult content creation, complete with costumes and age-play, and the people who actually live that world professionally are not amused. HBO has never been shy about pushing boundaries, but this time, the boundary it crossed belongs to someone else's livelihood.

While the show plays Cassie's content for laughs, the creators living this reality say the joke has very real consequences.

Why Euphoria season 3's OnlyFans storyline is not sitting well with creators

Cassie Howard launches an OnlyFans page in Euphoria to fund a $50,000 wedding-flower budget. The content Sam Levinson dreams up includes dressing as a dog with a collar and tail and performing age-play as a baby in a diaper. To top it off, the person behind the camera is her housekeeper, and creators like Sydney Leathers, Maitland Ward, and Alix Lynx are not happy about it.

"There’s just a lot that’s ridiculous and cartoonish about it," said Sydney Leathers, who has been on OnlyFans since 2017, in a conversation with Variety.

Maitland Ward added, "And there’s always this untrue stigma that somehow s** work is synonymous with s** trafficking and abuse. And they just said, let’s make a joke of it. That is so funny. I’m not laughing."

The baby costume and age-play content Cassie performs are not creative liberties, they are outright violations of OnlyFans' Acceptable Use Policy. The platform explicitly prohibits any content involving actual, claimed, or role-played exploitation of minors, and violations result in immediate account deactivation. Credit card processors enforce these rules strictly, making such content a fast track to being permanently removed. For real creators, these are not fine-print formalities but daily professional boundaries they actively work within.

‘Euphoria’ Season 3 to Feel a Lot Like Leonardo DiCaprio’s ‘One Battle After Another’, Here’s Why

As Cassie breaks every OnlyFans rule on screen, the rest of the cast is busy dismantling their own lives off it.

What is actually happening in Euphoria season 3 for the main cast

Set five years after Season 2 of Euphoria, the season finds every character navigating early adulthood through increasingly extreme circumstances. Careers are shifting for good and bad. Zendaya's Rue is smuggling fentanyl and managing a strip club, Hunter Schafer's Jules is a high-end sugar baby, and Alexa Demie's Maddy reluctantly becomes Cassie's manager, aiming to build her into the next Sophie Rain.

Maddy pushes Cassie toward viral fame by staging a scene at an influencer mansion party, complete with a videographer and a cocaine-off-the-navel moment. The season finale, In God We Trust, streams May 31, 2026, on HBO and Max. For a show that treats chaos as storytelling currency, Cassie's arc remains its most debated transaction.
