The outfit also carries production markings tied to Bermans & Nathans, along with signs consistent with on-screen use. Its ownership history adds another layer of interest. The suit reportedly originated from Warner Bros., later passed into private hands, and was sold through Profiles in History in 2011 before resurfacing again.

It will now be offered by Heritage Auctions during its Hollywood and Entertainment Signature Auction, with bidding set to begin at $100,000. For collectors, this is more than memorabilia. It represents a striking moment in superhero storytelling. Reeve’s dual performance in Superman III balanced the character’s charm with a darker edge, and this costume stands as a physical reminder of that transformation.
