The Kim Kardashian relationship became one of Pete Davidson’s biggest celebrity headlines, arriving after his high-profile romances had already made his personal life a tabloid fixture. From Ariana Grande to Kardashian, Davidson has often found himself at the center of pop-culture crossfire, even as his stand-up and acting career continued to develop. But behind the paparazzi frenzy and Kardashian-world spectacle, Davidson now has a more measured story to tell about one of those relationships.
His latest comments offer a glimpse at what it was actually like stepping into a family where cameras, security details and public scrutiny are part of the furniture.

Pete Davidson does not describe his relationship with Kim Kardashian as some Hollywood cautionary tale. Instead, he remembers her as someone who understood the boundaries around his public image, even while acknowledging that the Kardashian lifestyle could become overwhelming. Speaking to Variety, Davidson said Kardashian was “super respectful” about how he was portrayed on reality television.
“And I was never subjected to anything I didn’t want to be a part of. She was super respectful of all of it, but the craze of that lifestyle — being followed everywhere, having security and looking over your shoulder — for a guy with mental stuff, and at the time d*** problems, was a little too much for me….” he said.

Still, Davidson made it clear that there is no lingering animosity, saying he has “a lot of love” for Kardashian and knew what he was getting into. His relationships can become bigger stories than his projects, turning the Staten Island comedian into a recurring character in the Hollywood dating ecosystem. Yet the actor has gradually been carving out a different lane, one where his work rather than his romantic history gets top billing.
Now, Davidson is giving audiences something else to focus on: the work itself. His next role puts him in a very different kind of spotlight, trading celebrity headlines for a physically demanding part in a high-octane action film.

The shift becomes especially interesting with How to Rob a Bank, David Leitch’s upcoming action film. The movie follows social media-savvy criminals who livestream their robberies, with Nicholas Hoult leading the crew and Pete Davidson playing Vince, a wounded Afghanistan veteran. Sony lists the film for a November 13 theatrical release.
Davidson also approached the physical transformation seriously, saying he gained 15 pounds of muscle and used Sermorelin and BPC-157 while training heavily and consuming large amounts of protein. His bluntness about the process cuts through the familiar Hollywood fitness myth that an actor simply ate chicken, rice and broccoli to achieve a dramatically different physique.

For Davidson, the role represents another chance to move the conversation away from the celebrity dating carousel and toward his range as a performer. If Leitch is right that Davidson brings an innate warmth and disarming quality to the set, How to Rob a Bank could give audiences a very different reason to watch him.
The bigger question is whether this marks the point where Davidson’s acting career finally outruns the headlines surrounding his personal life.
