Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is an upcoming sci-fi comedy series set in the universe of The Big Bang Theory. The spinoff centers on comic book store owner Stuart Bloom and is a new chapter with familiar faces from the original sitcom in an all-new storyline. Now, after years of development, the highly anticipated The Big Bang Theory spinoff finally has a release schedule. 

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe will premiere on HBO Max in the United States on July 23, 2026. This is the latest spinoff from The Big Bang Theory, and it finally has an official premiere date. Then new episodes will be released weekly every Thursday. On April 12, 2023, HBO Max announced that it had been developing an early-stage untitled spin-off of The Big Bang Theory. 

Casey Bloys, the CEO and chairman of HBO and Max, announced the spin-off series at the 2023 Warner Bros. Discovery upfront presentation. In March 2025, it was announced that the spin-off would be called Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. HBO Max officially gave the green light to the show as a series in July 2025. The announcement is the next chapter in the renowned The Big Bang Theory franchise, with Stuart Bloom getting his own series.
