The Big Bang Theory is finally getting a true spinoff that is based on the current timeline, after Young Sheldon, a prequel that took viewers through the childhood of the protagonist in the ‘80s and ‘90s, and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, a spinoff to Young Sheldon set in the ‘90s. The ongoing adventures of Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman), whose comic book store was a crucial location on The Big Bang Theory for most of its run, will be the subject of the new spinoff, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. 

As the nostalgia breeze becomes stronger and stronger, the intrigue around the details of the upcoming spinoff whets.

On July 23 at 6 p.m. PT, The Big Bang Theory spinoff series will debut on HBO Max. After that, episodes will be released every week. There will be a total of ten episodes in the first season. A trailer for the show was already released on June 23. There are numerous overt allusions to beloved films, such as Alien and Mad Max.

However, the most anticipation is around the new and old cast attached to the new spinoff.

Naturally, Kevin Sussman, who played Stuart in most of The Big Bang Theory, will take the lead. John Ross Bowie will play Barry Kripke, a part-time rival of Sheldon and string theorist from CalTech; Brian Posehn will play rock-loving geology professor Bert Kibbler; and Lauren Lapkus will play Stuart's comic-loving girlfriend Denise.

Tommy Walker, Josh Brener, and Ryan Cartwright have also joined the cast in significant recurring roles. According to reports, Cartwright will portray Kyle, a comic book enthusiast who frequently visits Stuart's shop. Brener will play Trevor, a new character. Walker will also portray Gary, who is reportedly Denise's attractive new boyfriend.

In Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, Stuart Bloom, the owner of a comic book store, breaks a gadget made by Sheldon and Leonard and unintentionally starts a multiverse catastrophe. Stuart is left to repair the damage when the error triggers an Armageddon across realities.

He pairs up with his love interest, Denise, his geologist friend Bert, and the always unpleasant but bright Barry Kripke to make amends. They come into numerous alternate versions of well-known Big Bang Theory characters as they go across several realities. But there is a lot of commotion along the road, and Stuart's path is anything but easy. This Big Bang Theory spinoff promises to be a wild ride.
