‘Stranger Things’ Sweetheart Gaten Matarazzo Finds His Dream Roles Far Away From the Digital Screens, and It Has a Connection to ‘The Office’
Gaten Matarazzo is one of the wilding popular faces of Stranger Things. His character Dustin Henderson has been one of the most beloved characters right from the start. Throughout this journey, this young boy has treated fans with some of the most incredibly humorous moments. Thanks to the American actor who embodied the character so nicely that today viewers cannot imagine Dustin without him. But viewers might be shocked to know that this character is not his first love, and it is clearly far away from the silver screen.
The breakout star of the massively followed Netflix show recently sat down with USA Today to talk about his Broadway role. Gaten Matarazzo landed his dream role in a new remake of Stephen Sondheim’s 1979 slasher musical. The 20-year-old will be playing the role of an exploited orphan living in 19th-century London.

During the conversation, he revealed that the character of Tobias has always been on his bucket list. He said that this character is so dynamic that actors of any age can embody it. “There’s so many interesting ways to approach it depending on your age, and that’s what’s so wonderful about it,” he told USA Today.

So if he gets the chance to play again, he would do it without a question over and over again. Most of the fans who have watched the wildly famous sitcom The Office might agree with his statement. The episode, Andy’s Play from season 7 depicts the same scene where Andy (Ed Helms) invites his colleagues to watch the theater act of Sweeney Todd.

Before garnering fame with his fan-favorite role in Stranger Things, Matarazzo was just a Broadway kid. Only at the age of 8, he fell in love with the theatre starring in 2011’s Priscilla Queen of the Desert. And many fans might not know that has liked being a part of theatres even more than television.
