Read about David Harbour and his revelation as he sheds light on the suspicions stirring up regarding the ending of Black Widow.

‘Stranger Things’ Star David Harbour’s Revelation Raises Black Widow Suspicions

Marvel is renowned for its captivating storytelling and mind-bending innovations
in movies and shows. Yet, even with its meticulous attention to detail, certain
blunders manage to slip through the cracks. One notable instance was the case of
Black Widow. Marvel may not bear sole responsibility for the lackluster
reception. But there was a particular time when this supposed Marvel wonder hit
the screens.

David Harbour, a key member of the ensemble, has now validated the suspicions
that fans harbored about the conclusion of Black Widow. During a recent podcast
interview, the Stranger Things [https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/stranger-things/]
actor confirmed the reservations fans held about the film’s climax.

DAVID HARBOUR CONFIRMS SUSPICIONS ABOUT BLACK WIDOW’S ENDING

Out of all the unfortunate events that could befall a Marvel movie, they all
seemed to converge upon Black Widow. The pandemic’s impact, the unique release
format, and the challenge of it being a prequel for a character who met her end
in Avengers: Endgame—these factors cast a shadow over it. The weight of CGI in
the climax added to the film’s complexity. During his discussion on the Happy
Sad Confused podcast, Harbour unveiled a revealing tidbit: “entire third act was
reworked as we shooting.”

The star of Grand Turismo went a step further and revealed that Marvel has plans
to rework Black Widow. The last act, which stood apart from the rest of the film
by avoiding superpowers and high-tech suits, left audiences underwhelmed. This
approach has now become a signature of the current MCU, blending realism with
the extraordinary.

Reports suggest that Marvel deliberately hires directors without extensive VFX
experience, aiming to retain their creative influence. After revealing that the
studio is changing it up,

in the context of Thunderbolts, this new revelation from Harbour comes with
newfound madness.

The challenges for Black Widow didn’t stop at that point. The lead actress,
Scarlett Johansson, faced her own legal battles concerning the movie.

LEGAL BATTLES AND SETBACKS WITH BLACK WIDOW

In 2021, MCU star Scarlett Johansson initiated a legal battle against Disney.
Her concern was the dual release of her film Black Widow on both streaming and
in theaters, which she believed violated her contract. She alleged that Disney’s
actions influenced Marvel to breach their agreement, denying her rightful
benefits from the deal.

The consequences of this contractual dispute were significant. Tied to the
movie’s box office success, the compensation of Johansson experienced a
significant loss in earnings. Despite a strong opening of $80 million, Black
Widow faced a steep 67% decline in revenue. It was due to its hybrid release
strategy. The story shifted in Johansson’s favor as she won her legal battle
against Disney. This ultimately resolved the conflict between them after intense
legal proceedings.
