The sour relationship of Prince Harry and Sir Elton John could take a sweet turn amid their battle against a common cause

Story of Clash and Concord: Insights Into the Longtime Friendship of Sir Elton John and Britain’s Prince Harry and Other Royals

Prince Harry [https://www.netflixjunkie.com/tag/prince-harry/], over the years,
has drunk deeply from the cup of freedom and embraced every opportunity to shape
life on his own terms. However, in this journey, he has also suffered
significant losses. Apart from drifting away from the branches of his family
tree, the Prince also found the pages turning away from some non-family members,
who were once his pillars of support. This includes his long-term friendship
with Sir Elton John.

Sir Elton John used to be an integral part of Prince Harry’s life once, but
their bond faded with the passage of time. Nevertheless, fateful threads drew
them back together once again as they found themselves on the common ground of a
shared cause.

PRINCE HARRY AND SIR ELTON JOHN’S RELATIONSHIP OVER THE YEARS

Prince Harry and Sir Elton have both gone on record, expressing their affection
towards each other. John was also termed as the “motherly figure” to both Prince
Harry and Meghan Markle [https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/meghan-markle]. Many
believed that the Sussexes’ decision to abandon their royal roots triggered the
discord between Elton and Prince Harry until the news of the Oscar party snub
added a new layer to the unfolding narrative. However, Prince Harry set the
records straight in his memoir, Spare, where he unveiled the real reason for his
fallout with Sir Elton John.

The Prince in his book mentioned that his rift with Sir Elton John arose after
the latter chose to serialize his memoir, Me, in the Daily Mail. And this
happened before the Sussexes shook the world with their infamous exit from the
royal family

The very newspaper that sowed discord has now become the bridge that reconnected
them for a shared purpose. However, it is important to note that Prince Harry
was not the only royal member Sir Elton John shared a heartfelt bond with.

The common thread weaving Prince Harry and Sir Elton John together was the late
Princess Diana, who shared a close friendship with the esteemed musician.

PRINCESS DIANA’S FRIENDSHIP WITH SIR ELTON JOHN

Princess Diana and Sir Elton John’s friendship marked its beginning at an event
in Windsor Castle in 1981. They bonded over their shared love for dancing and
shared a harmonious friendship with each other for years. However, they had a
fallout after Princess Diana refused to be a part of a fashion photography book
put together by Gianni Versace. The book aimed at raising funds for Sir Elton
John’s AIDS Foundation, and Prince Diana’s last-minute snub made the British
singer “furious”.

Both the drifted friends found a way to reconnect after one of their mutual
friends met an unfortunate demise. Six weeks after their reconciliation, John
bid his final farewell to Prince Diana. Ever since then, John became a
protective and motherly figure to both Princess Diana’s sons. However, he shared
a special bond with Prince Harry. Though the Duke of Sussex and the British
pianist’s bond has soured through the years, the ongoing common battle could
mend the rift between the estranged friends.
