Tom Kane died on Monday, May 18, according to a spokesman for the actor who spoke to TMZ. The cause of death was not disclosed, nor were any further details. According to reports, though, complications from a stroke Kane had in 2020 are supposed to be the reason for his death.

“Though his voice may now be silent, the characters, stories, and love he gave to the world will live on forever,” his representative Zach McGinnis said.

Beyond his amazing career, Kane was a remarkable man. He was a loving husband, and together with his wife, he raised nine children, six of whom were adopted or fostered and three of whom were biological. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, on April 15, 1962, Kane started his voice acting career at the age of 15.

His resounding tones found a home on radio and television, and he was frequently called upon as an announcer. Throughout his career, he narrated and made announcements for a number of Disney amusement park rides and attractions, announced the Academy Awards four times, and served as the announcer on The Eric Andre Show.

His voice acting career in animation started in the early '90s and soon began to take off with his beloved Cartoon Network appearance.
