Tobey Maguire officiated the wedding of his ex-wife Jennifer Meyer to Geoff Ogunlesi, only weeks after his divorce from her became final. A baby daughter, born earlier this year, had already joined the family by then. Divorce papers usually close a story, yet this one somehow earned a sequel, complete with a famous crowd and plenty of fresh flowers. Nobody involved appears to have found the arrangement strange.

While most exes send a polite gift and stay far away, Maguire took center stage and ran the whole ceremony himself.

Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire plays officiant at his ex-wife’s Hawaii wedding

Tobey Maguire officiated the wedding on October 10, 2026, at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai in Hawaii, wearing a suit and tie and reading from papers with a smile as the couple kissed. Jennifer Meyer wore a strapless white gown with a long veil, while Geoff Ogunlesi went with a black suit and bow tie. The timing is what makes it so striking, since Maguire and Meyer finalized their divorce on September 21.

Maguire and Meyer married in 2007, separated in 2016, and Meyer filed for divorce in 2020. Meyer, 49, is a jewelry designer and the daughter of longtime Universal Studios executive Ron Meyer, while Ogunlesi, 34, is a music executive and the son of Nigerian billionaire investment banker Adebayo Ogunlesi. Their two children, Ruby Sweetheart Maguire and Otis Tobias Maguire, took part in the ceremony, and guests included Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeff Bezos, and Courteney Cox.

While Maguire handled the vows with ease, his Spider-Man future now sits in a far stickier web of studio business.

Why Spider-Man stars Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield may be paying for Tom Holland’s success

Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire may be paying the price for Tom Holland’s success, because Spider-Man: Brand New Day has already crossed $1.67 billion worldwide. According to The John Campea Show, Sony has little incentive to launch solo films for the older Spider-Men while Holland keeps printing so much money. A rival Spider-Man franchise could split audiences and cash, and Disney, the parent company of the MCU, reportedly worries about that competition.

Tom Rothman told Variety that Sony has no live-action Marvel spin-offs in development, after Morbius, Madame Web, and Kraven the Hunter stumbled. Tom Holland is the only Spider-Man made for the 2015 Marvel and Sony deal, while Maguire and Garfield came from separate Sony continuities and only visited the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home. A Maguire cameo in Avengers: Doomsday remains rumored. For now, his latest role is a wedding officiant.
