Swinging past the competition, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has made box-office history with a record-breaking $360.1 million domestic opening weekend, far surpassing Avengers: Infinity War’s $257.7 million domestic debut. Destin Daniel Cretton’s fourth MCU solo Spider-Man film opened with a blasting record and has continued its strong run. The follow-up to Spider-Man: No Way Home finds Peter Parker beginning a new chapter for the superhero.
Now, Tom Holland’s latest Spider-Man movie has swung past one of the MCU’s biggest box-office giants.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s domestic opening day surpasses Avengers: Infinity War
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially outgrossed Avengers: Infinity War at the domestic box office to set a new record-breaking streak. It was released on July 31, 2026, and, as per Box Office Mojo, grossed $360.1 million in the United States and Canada, the highest-grossing domestic opening weekend ever. By comparison, Avengers: Infinity War debuted to $257.7 million domestically when it hit theaters in April 2018, giving Brand New Day a sizable head start right from the opening weekend of its theatrical run.

As per Box Office Mojo, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is at $671.03 million domestically, as of now, and $1.02 billion internationally. The film has grossed 60.3% of its worldwide total in the international market and 39.7% in North America. The MCU film helmed by Tom Holland is set to be one of the biggest box-office hits of 2026, with strong performances both at home and abroad.
Meanwhile, Avengers: Infinity War was a major box-office success, earning $678.8 million domestically and $1.37 billion internationally. The Marvel blockbuster grossed around $2.05 billion worldwide. The film featured many Marvel superheroes joining forces for the first time against Thanos, sparking huge anticipation among the movie-going public. With its huge box office run, it helped make Infinity War a landmark for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Holland’s latest Spidey adventure is swinging toward another massive box-office milestone, building on the star’s impressive domestic track record.

Tom Holland’s last three solo Spider-Man movies have also done well at the domestic box office. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) made $334 million in the U.S. and Canada, and was followed by Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), which earned $391 million. Meanwhile, the biggest domestic hit of the trilogy was Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), which made a whopping $814 million. The three movies combined grossed more than $1.53 billion domestically, signaling Holland’s popularity as Spider-Man.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man continues to prove its staying power with audiences as Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now outgrossing Avengers: Infinity War at the domestic box office.
