Last year, the IMAX slate for 2026 revealed a list of releases where Spider-Man: Brand New Day was nowhere to be seen. It turns out that the Marvel movie got late to the party and lost IMAX screens to Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, just like the other big Marvel movie of the year, Avengers: Doomsday, which lost screens to Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part III. Spider-Man fans had almost lost hope that will be able to see the web-slinger on an IMAX screen.
But all hope is not lost, as Brand New Day has just released its IMAX poster and set a screening date, confirming that Spidey will be seen on the biggest screen there is.
IMAX poster and screening date announced for Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Amid the strong box office run, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is adding more screens, and this time the immersive IMAX ones to give a more spectacular experience to the audience starting August 7. Until now, the movie was available for a variety of screenings, such as standard 2D, 3D, 4DX, ScreenX, etc.
But IMAX seemed to be missing in the fray, which will now be available for fans who prefer to watch Tom Holland’s latest adventures as the friendly neighborhood superhero on a big IMAX screen. Additionally, the IMAX screenings would also boost ticket sales, as it is not just about adding more screenings but also introducing a totally new experience of the movie.

With The Odyssey going steady but not as dominant as Brand New Day, the audience got an early IMAX release of the fourth Spider-Man film, with a cherry-on-top poster along with it. The IMAX slate from last year revealed that the Christopher Nolan epic has blocked all IMAX screens from July 17 to August 14. This means that we actually got Brand New Day in IMAX a week earlier than it was supposed to.
However, even without the IMAX spot, Brand New Day has edged past Christopher Nolan’s behemoth in record time.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day bested The Odyssey in just four days
After clinching records from the claws of Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Brand New Day decided it was time to take on Christopher Nolan’s grand epic, The Odyssey. The latest Spider-Man flick swung past The Odyssey’s box office total so far in just four days and clocked in a global total of $927 million, which is insane.

To think that a movie is already knocking on the doors of the billion-dollar club in just four days of theatrical run is bonkers. On the heels of favorable reviews from critics and viewers alike, such a feat was made possible for the much-anticipated return of Peter Parker. Now, the movie will be eyeing to surpass its predecessor, No Way Home, and then maybe even Avengers: Endgame, with the help of IMAX, of course.
