Six years after Megxit, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are back in Britain, and SNL UK is already counting the punchlines. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to California after stepping back from royal duties, but their return comes with plenty still unexplained. Naturally, the comedy show has supplied its own theory: that perhaps the Sussexes had already emptied the pockets of their “Netflix money”.
And SNL U.K. is not stopping there, dragging Markle’s As Ever into the royal-family roast for good measure.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry barely made it back to Britain before SNL UK had them spending their way through the royal family. The Season 2 premiere cold open imagined the Duke and Duchess of Sussex arriving at Balmoral, where their return quickly became a punchline about the couple’s finances.
“Don’t tell me you’ve spent that Netflix money already?” Larry Dean, as King Charles III, asked. “Daddy, it was $16 million. How long was it supposed to last?” Jack Shep, as Prince Harry replied.
The sketch did not leave the royal family waiting long for a second round. Jack Shep and Ayoade Bamgboye portrayed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who arrived at Balmoral to see Larry Dean’s King Charles III and Emma Sidi’s Queen Camilla. Alongside the money jokes came a playful send-up of the Sussexes’ public displays of affection, making the family reunion considerably less discreet than one might expect.

And then there was As Ever, which received its own little royal summons. Meghan Markle presented Queen Camilla with a homemade ice tray and offered the recipe, declaring herself "a whizz in the kitchen." Prince Harry promptly spoiled the domestic goddess routine by adding that the Duchess of Sussex hires the best chefs, leaving As Ever with its own cameo in the evening’s royal roast.
As SNL UK turns the Sussexes’ lives as private citizens into a comedy playground, the royals are hardly the only British figures getting their moment in the Season 2 premiere.
SNL UK season 2 premiere had one more conspicuous guest
George Fouracres had another familiar British face up his sleeve for SNL UK’s Season 2 premiere, arriving as newly minted Prime Minister Andy Burnham. The actor, already praised for his previous Prime Minister impression, switched characters, with Burnham’s signature black-rimmed glasses helping complete the look. His unexpected entrance gave the sketch another playful turn before Jeff Goldblum’s musical number took over.

Fouracres’ Burnham was a brief but conspicuous addition to a premiere already packed with recognizable British figures. The cameo slipped neatly into the action rather than taking over, giving viewers another familiar face to spot before the spotlight moved elsewhere. With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also among the episode’s comic targets, the royals were clearly not having the only fun at their expense.
